The archive is a collection which has been recognised as a repository of unique and international importance. The collection includes scores and orchestral sets for over 100 operas and other musical works acquired and used by the Company during its touring days, including early sets acquired by Carl and Euphrosyne for their early tours in America in the 1860s. Alongside these, the archive is home to other items related to the Company, including a collection of photographs, programmes and business papers. The archive is currently located in the Central Library, Liverpool.

In recent years, material from the archive has been used to create new editions of rare operas (several of which have been recorded for the first time), and several scholars have consulted the Trust during the course of their ground-breaking research into the history of opera in Britain. Access to the collection is granted at the sole discretion of the Trustees, owing to the fragile state of many items.
